November

So far we're having a great November!
This handsome guy will be 4 months old this week!
This little girl LOVES LOVES LOVES to do all our hair. She has perfected the squirt bottle do. Squirt, brush, style, repeat! Here she has found some plastic play tweezers which she thinks are great for hair styling. When you tell her you are done and that she did a great job, she moves onto the next person. She doesn't stop until EVERYONE has had their turn, including herself. It is pretty cute. And so is her Donald Trump hair-do!

Mommy tried this new do on her this past week. This past week she has also found a new stronger love for Dora. She didn't like me interrupting her as you can see by her grumpy face...which is kinda fake cause she also loves the way it looks in the mirror so she does it all the time.
Maybe mommy let her watch too much dora--but hey! It was the first week of her life that she would actually sit down and watch a show for more than 2 minutes and I found myself enjoying that a little bit! Here I couldn't get her to look at me because Dora was way better.I got to go on more dates this month than I have in the past 6 months! This one was one of the best--I went with Isaac and Luke to our Stake's musical (It was a bunch of numbers from different Broadway musicals and it was awesome!!) and then out for Ice cream. We hooked up with our friends the Brown's, which is always a treat.

And in the job search news...
Kyle has been busy applying for jobs and interviewing for jobs. He is applying for a GMAT part time teaching position and passed the first round...it is a pretty intense hiring process so we'll just have to see what happens in the next round. He has his "gig" with BlackLedger (the start up business he started a few years ago that we had to ditch for a while after not making any money for way too long). He is going to give it a shot for the next couple of months while he interviews and looks for jobs and hope that he gets the GMAT job and that BlackLedger comes through for us. It would be nice to have the flexibility of owning your own business AND make money doing it! We keep hoping and praying that whatever is best for our family will happen!

And until then, we are living, and loving our life and extremely grateful this Thanksgiving holiday for all our blessings.

LIGHT at the end of the tunnel?

Stuff just keeps happening around here!! We lead such an exciting life right now I guess;)

After two weeks of a house full of sickness....Luke got the stomach flu again. He threw up so much (lost 5 pounds) that he ended up having a shot to stop him from throwing up and we took him trick or treating in the stroller. He thought it was a bad idea...he thought he would be able to walk, but after about 2 houses, he believed his parents and got into the stroller. So, Luke is back to full speed. And so is everyone else. LIGHT at the end of the tunnel.

And THEN!!!!

Kyle called me Monday morning and said, "I"m coming home, cause I just got laid off!" I didn't know whether to laugh or hyperventilate so I kinda did both for a good 30 seconds then decided to laugh. I decided right then we would celebrate with burgers, fries AND shakes that night. You see, this job that he had was LAME. They really should never have hired him but we were so glad they did when his other company got outsourced to India. It really wasn't in his field and I think they just hired him cause the guy who hired him liked him. But when we found out that the CEO guy is crazy and decided to hate and like Kyle every other day we knew it was a bad job. (Literally, and sadly, the man is really going crazy...slowly but surely...wondering how long he will be able to hide it...the beginnings of dementia are setting in). We had no lapse in between jobs which was great because we just bought a house. BUT, the job was still lame. We had a good idea he was going to be let go when he was faxing and stuffing boxes all day:).

He got laid off with 2 of the other people they brought over from his other job and they all ride in a car pool together--and ALL 3 of them were pretty much looking for other job options before it even happened. And I'm pretty sure all of them are happy for now. He got 2 months severance pay and the good thing is that he will actually have TIME to look for a job. He has already been looking for a few months but didn't have time off to actually go for interviews etc so he was going to have to be creative. Not anymore! It really is a blessing (which is what we are calling it right now). BUT, if in two months he still doesn't have a job, we will be wallowing. So, anyone hear of a great job out there who wants a super intelligent, witty, handsome, and very talented guy? Let us know!!

And remember my complaining post? Really, deep down, it was all about his job. His lame job has been the source to all of our unhappy feelings so hopefully things really will start to look better through this jobless lens:) And hopefully he will find a GREAT job fast!

And because a post without pictures is BORING!

Happy Halloween!
Some of us were happy.
(a pumpkin tradition in our family...but we forgot with Ruby.)
I don't think she minds.Ruby enjoying her Halloween Loot. She just couldn't believe we were letting her eat all that candy! She got sick of it pretty quick but loved it in the moment!
Friday night before Halloween our neighbors had a party. The well members of our family attended. Actually, Kyle only went to say hi (he didn't feel very well either) and then my friend offered to watch Isaac so he partied for over 3 hours and was in heaven to get to stay out until 9:30!!
*Jenny, do you notice the polka dot pumpkin in the back? Well, I quickly realized when you do that with a white pumpkin, it doesn't look very cute, just a lot like Swiss cheese! Cute idea though!A happy Sunday Halloween
Handsome little mohawk baby.
There's a fury spider in your hair.
I know...very scary!

We really didn't LOVE our October and were saying the night before Kyle got laid off that we were really looking forward to November and how we hoped it was better than the last month...a month worth forgetting.

So far we are loving our November. Although Kyle does need some practice with these household matters, he is improving from the first day. He got poop on my carpet while changing a diaper and I nearly fired him...

Kyle keeps offering to help me in the morning with things I normally do all by myself...he is making me feel like I am wonder women--he acts so impressed when I tell him that I do know how to do all of this without him, but since he is here, I'll let him help:) Ruby is in heaven with so much daddy time. Isaac asked me, "why does Ruby love Daddy more than you?"

We all love our Daddy/Kyle time.

BUT, a job would be nice too!
