I need to get back to writing about this family of mine! They are so adorable and so crazy and every time I blink they grow a year older, and sometimes wiser too. I keep not starting because I feel like I need to back track and catch up--but that isn't going to happen for a long time, and so now, I am just going to start with now.

The anticipation of Christmas was long and exciting and then BOOM Christmas day hit and was over just like that. Getting back into our routine and schedules has been completely agonizing. I had to resort to more than a few cherry cokes and a couple quarts of orange juice just to make it through. But finally February is in view...and January must be reminisced.
A few days after Christmas we headed to St. George for two reasons--to have fun and to say goodbye to our home away from homes. While we were there we decided we just couldn't part with it, and decided to sell most but not all of our share to Kyle's business partners. We will soon be the former owners to 1/3 of the home, and the proud new owners of 1/12th of the home. We were only able to use it about 4 times a year anyways. With the amount of kids we have we are just running around like crazy, especially on the weekends, and we couldn't get away as much as we had hoped. The kids are thrilled that we will still be able to play in St. George though. We always have so much fun there!
We took our first family bus ride for a vacay and the kids loved walking off of it and getting all the stares from the onlookers. Kyle and I didn't enjoy that part as much. Especially when we had no other vehicle but wanted to go to a movie after the kids were in bed. We went to the movie "Only the Brave" and afterwards as we were walking to our bus, Kyle suggested that we act like another car was ours in the parking lot, but I quickly realized there were only a couple other cars and the group walking behind us owned the truck we were planning on pretending was ours. We quickly loaded the bus and never looked back!
Everyone is becoming official swimmers since we have pools to practice in! Millie and Max beg to take off their life jackets to practice on the step with us and they are both doing so well! Oliver has the makings of a killer breaststroke, Penny and Ruby are turning into mermaids and Luke has almost mastered his dive! We made sure not to starve while becoming fish. Lots of ice cream and snacks are a must in St. George. We visited a fun park we call the train park but we have yet to see the train running when we visit.
On our way out of town we visited the Black Bear Diner. After stuffing our face we headed back home...super excited for the next day. New early church time AND church talks for Kyle and I. We survived the church talks, and even had a great opening story. As the opening Hymn was being sung Kyle realized we were down a kid and had to drive home to find our missing David. It wasn't for lack of trying! He was originally on the bus but last minute got off to go look for something. Anyways, I think Kyle enjoyed using that as his opening story before his talk. Just in case anyone had mistakingly assumed we were good at our job as parents to so many kids, he was able to set them straight.
New years eve was full of all our traditional celebrations complete with a family movie, yummy drinks, crackers and cheese. We finished the night off by running around shoeless banging pots and pans to ring in the new year. I of course, chose to videotape the shenanigans instead of participate. We went to bed late and dreamed of sleeping in late, but our dreams were of course shattered. I thought children needed a lot of sleep???
January 2018
This week started off with a bang. Kyle and I gave talks at church. Besides forgetting a kid at home (he was told to get in the bus but failed--and we failed at counting heads before we left), the talks went well and Kyle even realized the kid was missing and ran home to get him before the sacrament started. I didn't know anything was wrong until it was all over--the hazards of taking two cars to church.
After church we were finally able to take our picture perfect Christmas Sunday best clothes. It was of course not really picture perfect, and it was a couple weeks late, but I still call it a win!
The most important event this week was celebrating Ruby's 9th b-day. 9 is a hard year for me...its the beginning of the transition from little girl to big girl. It was so fun celebrating such an awesome person. We had a lazy morning opening presents and eating birthday donuts. After playing with friends and new toys Ruby and I picked up Kyle at work and went out for birthday lunch at her favorite place--Noodles and Co. We played a bit and took silly pictures together.
We started this tradition about 5 or 6 years ago. The night before or night of their birthday, the birthday kid gets to stay up later than the other kids and we look at their baby book together and talk about lots of fun growing up memories. Ruby loves it. Happy 9th birthday Robbles and Bits!
We finally got a pic of everyone in their Sunday best a couple weeks after Christmas. We were sick Christmas Sunday and quite a bit of Christmas break---Hand foot mouth disease almost got all of us!!
Right after Rubys birthday Penny got braces!! She look so much older but is still so cute!
During Christmas break Aunt Lisa brought Sadie to BYU after her mission and brought all her kiddos to play. We had fun in the bus and watched CoCo together. They also gave our Christmas present to us. They always give the best presents. Nesting dolls of all the kiddos. BEAUTIFUL!
When you move, you miss your old friends like crazy, so we had a few over to play in January!

We missed Ani an Lola for Christmas, so when they came to visit, we did Christmas all over again for them. We love and miss them so much!

At the end of January were our COPA performances. Everyone did so good! It was great to have friends and family come watch. Isaac, Luke, David, Penny, Ruby, Oliver and Millie all performed!! There were Widdisons everywhere! Just how we like it;)
A lot of fun times already happening in 2018. Dates with mom.
And Simon says "too much shopping" with mom too!
Mom and her crazy ideas. She went to the pet store to buy food for our Gekko Greg. She came out with a phone number for a lady who was selling a bunny. We met at a gas station and picked a bunny up. The girl in the picture is the other little girl who got a bunny at the gas station. It was her mom who gave our mom the phone number to buy the bunny.
At the dentist. "Max, smell my breath!"
Max'a Winnie the Pooh party at school.
(I was in charge)
Our Dad using the stud finder on himself.
He is truly a stud.
Fun times at Costco. Millie started counseling this month and got this blanket from Chelsea. She loves it. Mom loves it too:)
Field trip with Ruby!!
